A reconstructed family is a group composed of several groups.

System work

When working with a family, I consider it as a system composed of all it’s members. A reconstructed family is thus composed of at least two systems. The interaction within and between the different systems is a potential source of friction and tension that has to be handled properly. This is the reason I support you to bring as many as possible of the extended unit. Everybody in the system will benefit of getting a chance to openly explore their worries, hesitations, and even resistance as well as possibilities and hopes. It may take a few sessions to reach this stage but it is an important build-in part of our process together.

Respecting the past

My assistance involves – when necessary – recreating respect amongst the former partners. The optimal well being of a child with divorced parents is known to be when the parents are at peace with each other, regardless their reasons of divorce, because children are often more conservative than expected when it comes to family matters, and often remain very loyal to both parents.

Dealing with resistance

Resistance is a normal and natural process into something new, especially with children. With the right support and acceptance of resistance the process will flow easier than if not regarded and handled.

Tailor made solutions

Every family is unique and will therefore need it’s own solution, support and design. I work with a broad spectrum of methods which is helpful as people have different preferences in their way of understanding and expressing themselves. Further we believe that long lasting results create inner strength, independence and confidence. That will build a base to overcome fears, challenges and difficulties in life and in relations.
